Earlier kitchens used to be smaller than the norm today. The space is usually separate from the dining room and typically for only preparing meals but now the kitchen is seen as a statement of lifestyle.
The kitchen can also be said as the engine room as the fuel for the body i.e food is prepared there. It also fuels the minds and souls. It’s the hub of the house, people catch up, work, and bond in the kitchen.
We all have memories of our mother or father cooking and calling us from the kitchen. It feels good to go down memory lane. We all grow up at some point and our ways of doing things change but some things remain the same like coming home from a tiring day and your mom cooking your favorite food and you shouting from your room for a glass of water, those recipes which your mom makes remain special. The kitchen is basically the heart of the house. It has that warm feeling that is hard to explain.
Nowadays due to changes in trends, the kitchen is also the new living room as when people meet, two things happen- food and conversations and your kitchen allows you to do both in just one place.
A kitchen is also a place where you challenge your creativity. It’s the place a child learns to help his/her mother. It’s a place where we see our moms working and appreciate them for working hard. It’s a place where people cook for their loved ones and show love through their cooking.
So if someone asks me if the kitchen is the most important room of the house within a heartbeat I will say yes because it is where my mom works, it is where my favorite food is made, it is where the fun conversations take place, it is a place which brings families together.
