Cooking/kitchen myths you probably believed were true!

“Myth is nothing more than ancient gossip” -Stainislaw Jerzy Lee

Myth: Plastic may cause cancer.

There has not been a single scientific study that has ever shown evidence of this. Plastic is everywhere and in the kitchen, most of the containers are made of plastic.

This myth has spread so much that people have started switching to glass containers and other types of materials but in reality, nothing can really replace plastic containers. People relate plastic causing cancer with the government banning plastic bags but plastic bags were banned because plastic is harmful to the environment as it takes a long time to degrade, it was not because of plastic causes cancer. Depending on where we live and work, we are likely to be exposed to many plastic products every day. It’s almost impossible to boycott plastic entirely from our lives.

Studies have found that certain chemicals in the food in plastics might end up in food that we store but the levels are very low and that range is considered safe for humans. Plastic containers are pocket-friendly, easily available, less fragile, light weighted, and look classy in the kitchen.

Also, it does not react with the food or substances they contain. There are many other reasons as well, so until there is solid proof of plastic causes cancer, we should stop believing in this myth right here and use high-quality plastic containers without worrying about cancer.
